EASY MANGO DIP

Indian Summer in all it’s glory is here….. And summer means mangoes….. Ripe or unripe, mangoes are a must in every Indian household….. Unripe mangoes are very tasty and are rich source of pectin, vitamin C, etc……. Being an wonderful cooling agent it helps against heatstrokes……. Helps in digestion by activating the secretion of the digestive juices……. Health benefits are many…… Here is a simple dip which is very easy to make.

INGREDIENTS : 1/2 kg Raw mangoes, 250 gms sugar, 1-2 tsp salt, 2-3 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1/4th cup mustard oil, vinegar.

DIRECTIONS : Wash mangoes thoroughly…… Dry well…….. Remove the skin and cut into very small pieces……. Wash the Grinder jar with vinegar……. Pour in the oil and sugar in first …..grind….. Add mangoes, salt, red chilli powder….. Grind thoroughly till sauce like consistency …… Wash the container with vinegar……. Pour the dip into the container…… Refrigerate……. Keeps in refrigerator for a long time.

NOTE : Adjust sugar, salt, chilli powder, mustard oil according to taste…… Instead of red chilli powder, one can add green chillies for different taste….. Mustard oil gives an extra kick but one can use different oil too.
